So, in collge I Joined a Nerf club and for some god damned reason they made me the webmaster. I mean I did organize LAN parties and contribute one or two ideas but hey it was a fucking blast. I would do it again but nostalgic trip to the past aside, I built a consolidated website for all the information. Most of the shit in this site is outdated and never even used anymore but I like to keep these things for posterity. Click the image on the left or here to see why I don't use side bars in my websites anymore. Also, you can listen to YUNG BLENDER'S POPULAR HIT XANZIBAR LAND HERE |
You can actually get here from the UGC site but I think the Quake 3 story deserves its own entry on this thing. So in college, a few friends of mine and I were like "man. i wish we could play Quake 3 and Halo 1 in a LAN party, we have never dont that before". You have to understand we are 20 something millenials and have NEVER had a traditional LAN party. Sure we played Halo at a pals house or those split screen nights at a friends, but nothing on the scale of Quakecon. We were students and trying to cordinate space at a LAN party in small apartments and dorms is a fucking nightmare. Luckily we were in the nerf club on campus and the president loved it so much we reserved an entire computer lab one Saturday. Shit went off AMAZING. So, as a result, we started having semi-regular LAN parties. I found an old Quake 3 server log parsing program that would generate an HTML consolidation of the stats. I thought it was really really cool, so here are the results of that program. Of course you can click the image or here. |
So uh...what is Jerk and Slurp? Well...have you ever been 17...and texting your best pal on the toilet....and decide to make a penis inspired Doom wad? hahaha yeah man me to hahahahahahaa..... As of right now, I cannot provide a download for the WAD cause it TECHNICALLY edits the IWAD (which is the main copyrighted data files lol wacky) and it is super illegal to give that out. Therefore I gotta go back and edit it so that it is in its own WAD. I learned a lot about Doom mapping since then so I would never do that again. |
