QUAD DAMAGE
This is a fucking timeless game. I can gush about how great it is till the cows come home but this game is Multiplayer BLISS. My personal favorite of all the games we have up.
This one is a bit more complex to set up. As a result, I am gonna break up this guide a smidge. Right below will be critical info, then how to DL and install, after that will be how to unzip and install the game followed by how to join the server. At the very bottom will be how to install the models for the custom characters if you have a different version. Elsewise the pre-packs we give you have the models pre installed.
FRAGFEST STATS 2020
So, for the first LAN on 2/1/2020 we had a FRAGFEST which our BOI WASI WON WOOOO!

INSTALLING
Installing has been made easy as pie. We have a zip folder with all the models preconfigured --->HERE<---.Just unzip it anywhere you want, and launch quake3.exe. Once again it is highlighted below.
I really hope this is easy enough!!
JOINING
Joining is a bit different, since I had to do some tech mumbo jumbo to get both the Quake 3 and Smokin Guns servers up. It isn't as simple as just joining anymore. Anywho...
From the main menu, select MULTIPLAYER.
Next, click Specify at the bottom left.
After, type in the information EXACTLY as it is below.
Click FIGHT at the bottom right, now you are in!! In order to not go through that shit again, we are gonna add the server to Favorites. Thats also p easy.
While in the server, press ESC (top left of keyboard) to bring up the pause menu. Click "Server Info".
That will bring up this weird menu. Just click "Add to favorites" And it is done!
With that done, while on the Main Menu go to Multiplayer, and click on "Servers" until Favorites show up. If the server is not on there, repeat the above steps and it should show up. Also make sure Show Full and Show Empty are on.
MODELS
So you already have Quake 3 (like maybe on Steam or some shit), and you wanna fool around with the custom player models we have installed. Also E Z. First, download the models --->HERE<---. After that, navigate to your Quake 3 folder. In steam right click Quake 3 Arena, click Properties, click Local Files, and "Browse Local Files. Otherwise is in C:/Program FIles(x86)/Quake III Arena. Open the folder Baseq3 (shown below) and extract the models there. To check if they worked...
On the Main Menu, go to Setup, and click on Player.
From here, you can change your name, rail color, and handicap. Dont. But at the bottom right, click on Model.
Use the arrows under the collection of icons to go right and see if weird ass models show up. Select the one you like and just double click it. Bada bing you got a new model. Plus, other players on the server can see it too!!!
